What It’s Actually Like (Honest Review)
Sandals Negril feels completely different from resorts like Sandals Royal Barbados or Sandals Grande St. Lucian.
- Smaller, more intimate footprint
- Slower pace — no pressure to “do everything”
- Guests tend to be couples and honeymooners
- Evenings are relaxed, not party-heavy
- Less dining options than some Sandals Resorts, but you can visit Beaches Negril for more options
This is a “do less, enjoy more” kind of resort.
What You’ll Do at Sandals Negril
- Spend full days on the beach (this is the highlight)
- Take a catamaran sunset cruise
- Snorkel in clear, calm waters
- Try paddleboarding or kayaking
- Book a private candlelight dinner on the beach
Sandals Negril vs Other Sandals Resorts
Sandals Negril vs Sandals Montego Bay
- Negril: Better beach, quieter vibe
- Montego Bay: Closer to airport, more lively
Sandals Negril vs Sandals South Coast
- Negril: Clear water, sand bottom beach
- South Coast: More secluded, larger resort, overwater focus
👉 If calm vibes and the beach is your priority, Negril is hard to beat.
Getting There
- Direct flights available to Montego Bay from Toronto and major US hubs
- Transfer time: approximately 75–90 minutes
👉 I always prepare clients for this — it’s worth it for the beach, but important to know in advance.
Good to Know Before You Go
- Best rooms book early (especially beachfront and butler categories)
- Sunset-facing rooms are highly requested
- The vibe is intentionally relaxed — not a party resort (although there's always fun at the main pool!
- Beach conditions here are consistently excellent
My Personal Take
If your vision of a Caribbean vacation is all about the beach, Sandals Negril is one of the best choices in the entire Sandals portfolio.
It’s not about flashy design or nonstop entertainment — it’s about simple, beautiful, beachfront luxury done really well.
