Is Golf Included at Sandals Resorts?
At select Sandals Resorts in Jamaica and Saint Lucia, complimentary green fees are included for resort guests.
Depending on the destination, Sandals also offers convenient transportation between participating resorts and the golf course, as well as access to clubhouse facilities and golf clinics.
There may still be additional costs associated with playing, including items such as caddies, golf carts, club rentals or other course-specific fees.
In Curaçao, the arrangement is different: guests at Sandals Royal Curaçao receive preferred rates rather than complimentary green fees at the Old Quarry Golf Course.

Golf at Sandals Resorts in Jamaica
If golf is an important part of your vacation, Jamaica is one of the first Sandals destinations I would consider.

The beauty of choosing Jamaica is the variety.
You can pair golf with the energy and convenience of Montego Bay, the lush scenery around Ocho Rios or a more laid-back Jamaican resort experience.
Depending on the Sandals resort you choose, your golf experience may include access to courses in the Ocho Rios and Montego Bay areas.
That makes Jamaica particularly good for couples who want golf to be part of the vacation without becoming the entire vacation.
Play in the morning, spend the afternoon at the beach and be back at the resort in time for dinner.
Golf at Sandals Resorts in Saint Lucia
Then there’s Saint Lucia.
If you want spectacular scenery along with your golf, this is an island worth considering.
Guests staying at Sandals’ Saint Lucia resorts have access to golf at Cap Estate Golf & Country Club, located in the north of the island.
The 18-hole course is surrounded by Saint Lucia’s tropical landscape and gives golfers another way to experience the island beyond the resort.
Sandals has three resorts in Saint Lucia:
Sandals Grande St. Lucian
Located on its own peninsula in Gros Islet, this is my pick for travellers who want a gorgeous beach, calm water and easy access to the north of the island.
Sandals Halcyon Beach
Smaller, quieter and incredibly lush, Halcyon is a lovely option for couples who prefer a more intimate resort atmosphere.
Sandals Regency La Toc
Built into the hillside overlooking the Caribbean, La Toc has a completely different feel, with dramatic views, multiple pools and a larger resort layout.
One of the other advantages of staying at Sandals in Saint Lucia is the ability to experience more than one resort during your vacation through the brand’s exchange privileges, subject to current Sandals policies.
Golf can easily become one piece of a much bigger Saint Lucia itinerary — along with a catamaran trip to the Pitons, snorkelling, waterfalls, beaches and exploring the island.
Golf at Sandals Royal Curaçao
Curaçao offers something different again.
Guests staying at Sandals Royal Curaçao can play the Old Quarry Golf Course, a Pete Dye-designed 18-hole course located near the resort.
The setting is spectacular, with views over Curaçao’s Spanish Water and the surrounding Caribbean landscape.
Unlike Jamaica and Saint Lucia, golf here isn't generally positioned as complimentary green fees. Instead, Sandals Royal Curaçao guests can access preferred golf rates.
For the right traveller, that isn't necessarily a drawback.
Curaçao is one of my favourite Sandals destinations for couples who like to get off resort and explore. You can play a round of golf, spend another day wandering colourful Willemstad, head out snorkelling or diving, visit some of the island's incredible beaches and still have the Sandals all-inclusive experience waiting when you return.
What About the Non-Golfer?
This is where a Sandals golf vacation really works.
If only one of you golfs, the other person isn't stuck at a traditional golf resort wondering what to do all day.
While one person is on the course, the other can be:
- At the beach or pool
- Snorkelling or paddleboarding
- Booking a spa treatment
- Diving, for certified divers at participating resorts
- Enjoying breakfast or lunch overlooking the ocean
- Exploring the resort
- Or doing absolutely nothing — which is sometimes the whole point of going to the Caribbean
Then you meet back up and continue the vacation together.
Which Sandals Resort Is Best for Golf?
It depends on what you want the rest of the vacation to look like.
Choose Jamaica if golf is a significant priority and you want the greatest variety of Sandals resort experiences.
Choose Saint Lucia if you want golf combined with beautiful scenery, adventure and one of the Caribbean's most distinctive islands.
Choose Sandals Royal Curaçao if you want a sophisticated adults-only resort, a beautiful Pete Dye-designed course nearby and plenty of opportunities to explore beyond the resort.
I wouldn't choose based on the golf course alone.
The best Sandals resort for you also depends on your preferred beach, resort size, atmosphere, room category, dining, pools, nightlife, airport transfer and how much time you plan to spend off property.
Is Sandals Worth It for Golfers?
For the right couple, absolutely.
The value isn't simply the cost of a round of golf. It's being able to combine golf with an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation where your accommodations, meals, drinks, many activities and entertainment are already taken care of.
You don't need to plan an entire week around golf.
You can play once.
You can play several times.
Or you can pack your clubs with every intention of golfing and decide the pool looks better that morning.
That flexibility is part of what makes it such a good fit.
