If you’re trying to decide between Sandals Resorts International newest luxury properties, you’re not alone. Two of the most talked-about resorts right now are Sandals Dunn's River and Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines — and while both deliver luxury all-inclusive experiences, they offer very different vibes.
The truth? Neither is objectively “better.” It comes down to the type of vacation you want.
As a Sandals Specialist, these are two of the resorts I’m booking the most right now — but for very different clients.

Choose Sandals Dunn’s River If You Want:
- A lively atmosphere
- Modern luxury with a social vibe
- A stronger nightlife scene
- More restaurant variety
- Easy excursions and off-property experiences
- A classic Jamaica experience with elevated luxury
Sandals Dunn's River feels sleek, energetic, and polished. The resort has a gorgeous beachfront, multiple pool scenes, and some of the most modern suites currently in the Sandals portfolio.

One of the biggest draws right now is the new dining experience. Buccan — the resort’s open-fire restaurant — has become a standout feature and gives the resort a more upscale culinary feel than many travelers expect from an all-inclusive.
This is the resort I often recommend to:
- couples who want a mix of relaxation and energy
- honeymooners who still want nightlife
- clients who enjoy a social atmosphere
- travelers who love contemporary luxury design
It’s also ideal for clients who want easier flight access from major North American gateways.
Choose Sandals Saint Vincent If You Want:
- A quieter, more secluded luxury experience
- Nature-focused scenery
- A less commercial Caribbean destination
- Wellness and relaxation
- A resort that feels more exclusive and untouched
Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines feels entirely different from most Sandals resorts.

The setting is dramatic and lush — surrounded by mountains, rainforest, and a calm crescent-shaped bay. It feels more like a luxury retreat than a traditional Caribbean beach vacation.
This resort appeals strongly to travelers looking for:
- “quiet luxury”
- decompression travel
- wellness-focused vacations
- a more elevated and intimate atmosphere
- somewhere that feels new and undiscovered
The resort design blends beautifully into the landscape, and the overall pace feels slower and calmer than Dunn’s River.
Beach Comparison
If beach quality is your top priority, both resorts deliver — but differently.
- Dunn’s River offers a more traditional Jamaica beach experience with soft sand and a lively beachfront atmosphere.
- Saint Vincent’s beach feels more secluded, peaceful, and naturally dramatic.
Clients who want “beautiful and social” often lean toward Dunn’s River.
Clients who want “peaceful and immersive” usually prefer Saint Vincent.
Which Resort Has Better Rooms?
This depends entirely on your travel style.
Dunn’s River is known for:
- ultra-modern suites
- rooftop terraces
- swim-up suites
- lively luxury design
Saint Vincent is known for:
- tranquil villa-style accommodations
- serenity-focused layouts
- indoor/outdoor luxury feel
- more privacy-centered design
Both properties have stunning accommodations — but they appeal to different personalities.

My Overall Take
I often describe it this way:
- Sandals Dunn's River = luxury with energy
- Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines = luxury with tranquility
If you want a vibrant Caribbean getaway with modern excitement, Dunn’s River is probably your fit.
If you want a slower, more elevated escape surrounded by nature, Saint Vincent is hard to beat.
The good news? There really isn’t a wrong choice here.
