BEACHES NEGRIL Resort Guide
Beaches Negril is an all-inclusive family resort set directly on Jamaica’s famous Seven Mile Beach. With a gorgeous stretch of sand, calm Caribbean water, extensive kids’ programming and accommodations designed for families of different sizes, it’s one of my favourite Beaches Resorts for an easy Caribbean family vacation.
The location is a huge part of the appeal. You’re staying directly on one of Jamaica’s best-known beaches, with beautiful water and spectacular Negril sunsets. The resort itself feels tropical and relaxed, with enough activities to keep kids busy without losing the laid-back atmosphere that makes Negril special.
There’s also a really good range of rooms here. Couples travelling with one or two children can choose from family-friendly Concierge categories, while larger and multigenerational families have access to expansive multi-bedroom Butler suites.
For families who want a great beach, plenty for the kids to do and a resort that parents can genuinely enjoy too, Beaches Negril is a standout.

Beaches Negril works particularly well when different members of the family want different things from the vacation. The kids can have activities and entertainment. Teens have more independence. Parents can enjoy the beach, restaurants and resort. And everyone can come back together throughout the day.
BEACHES NEGRIL Resort Highlights
The beach is the star at Beaches Negril, but it’s not the only reason I recommend the resort. Families get the benefit of staying directly on Seven Mile Beach while still having the infrastructure of a full Beaches vacation behind them.
There’s kids’ programming, water sports, pools, Pirates Island Waterpark, Sesame Street activities, entertainment and enough dining variety that families aren’t eating at the same restaurant every night.
The room inventory is also important. Beaches vacations can look very different depending on whether you’re travelling as a family of four or bringing grandparents, adult children and grandchildren together. That’s why I spend so much time looking at the exact room configuration.
Sometimes the smartest option is one larger suite. Sometimes it makes more sense to book multiple rooms. The goal isn’t necessarily to book the biggest accommodation available — it’s to find the setup that works best for your family.

Beaches Negril has accommodations for everything from a smaller family vacation to a major multigenerational trip. The right room is the one that gives your family enough space, the right sleeping arrangements and the level of service you’ll actually use. These are three of my favourite options.
BEST VALUE
Tropical Oversized Concierge Family Suite
The Tropical Oversized Concierge Family Suite is one of my favourite starting points for families comparing rooms at Beaches Negril. You get more space than a standard hotel room along with Concierge service, without immediately moving into one of the resort’s much more expensive multi-bedroom categories.
For a family that plans to spend most of the day at the beach, pools, waterpark and activities, this can make a lot of sense. You have a comfortable home base, but you aren’t paying for a huge suite you may barely use during the day.
Best for EXTRA SPACE
Tropical One-Bedroom Grand Concierge Family Suite
For families who want more separation between sleeping and living space, I really like the Tropical One-Bedroom Grand Concierge Family Suite.
Having a separate bedroom can make a surprisingly big difference on a family vacation. Kids can go to sleep without requiring everyone else to turn off the lights for the night, and parents have somewhere to relax once the day is over. That extra privacy is especially valuable on a seven-night stay.
Best for MULTI-GENERATIONAL FAMILIES
Firesky Reserve Villa Four Bedroom Butler
The Firesky Reserve Villa Four Bedroom Butler is in an entirely different category. This is the kind of accommodation I’d consider for a major multigenerational family vacation where having everyone together is part of the experience.
Four bedrooms give different generations and family units meaningful private space while still allowing everyone to share the same suite. You get the fun of a shared family vacation without expecting everyone to live on top of one another for a week.

Is Butler Service Worth It at BEACHES NEGRIL?
Beaches Negril has excellent Concierge accommodations, and I’d rather put a family into the right room configuration than recommend Butler service simply for the sake of upgrading. Where Butler service becomes particularly interesting is with larger premium suites.
I’m more likely to recommend a Butler suite if:
- You’re booking a large multi-bedroom suite
- You’re travelling with an extended or multigenerational family
- You want help coordinating a larger group
- You’re celebrating a major family milestone
- You plan to spend meaningful time enjoying your suite
- You value personalized service throughout the vacation
MY TAKE
WHAT IS BEACHES NEGRIL REALLY LIKE?
Beaches Negril is one of those family resorts where I think the location does a lot of the work. You’re on Seven Mile Beach, the water is beautiful and you get those incredible Negril sunsets at the end of the day.
What I like most is that it still feels like a vacation for the adults. There’s obviously a lot here for children, but you’re not spending a week in an environment that feels like it was designed exclusively for kids. Parents can enjoy the beach, have a great dinner and actually relax while the kids have plenty to keep them busy.
I also think it works especially well when you have different ages travelling together. A six-year-old, a teenager, parents and grandparents are all going to want different things from a vacation, and Beaches Negril gives families enough flexibility to make that work.
The one area where I would be very deliberate is the room. Beaches has a huge range of categories and the price can climb quickly as you move into larger suites. I’d rather figure out exactly what your family needs first and then choose the accommodation than start with the fanciest room and work backwards.
For me, the combination of Seven Mile Beach, family programming and a resort that adults can enjoy is what makes Beaches Negril such a strong family option.
THE BEACH
FAMILY-FRIENDLY SEVEN MILE BEACH
The beach is one of the biggest reasons to choose Beaches Negril. You’re directly on Jamaica’s famous Seven Mile Beach, with soft sand, beautiful Caribbean water and plenty of space to enjoy one of Negril’s biggest attractions without ever leaving the resort. For families, I think the water matters just as much as the sand. A beautiful beach isn’t particularly useful if younger children can’t comfortably enjoy it. Negril’s setting makes beach days easy to work into the family routine rather than treating them as a separate activity.
EAT & DRINK
DINING AT BEACHES NEGRIL
Dining matters at a family resort. You need enough variety for adults who care about food, familiar choices for kids who don’t and enough options that seven nights doesn’t turn into seven versions of the same buffet. Beaches Negril gives families plenty to work with. These are three restaurants I’d put on my list.
