Choosing a Sandals resort isn’t just about the rooms, food, or service. The beach can completely define your experience.
And here’s the truth: not all Sandals beaches are equal.
Some are long and walkable, some are calm and crystal clear, and others are better for watersports than lounging. This breakdown reflects how I guide my clients—based on what actually matters when you’re there.

Best Sandals Beaches (By Category)
Best Overall Beach: Sandals Negril
If you’re looking for that classic Caribbean beach, this is it.
Located on Seven Mile Beach, Sandals Negril offers soft white sand, a flat and swimmable shoreline, and one of the few beaches in the Sandals portfolio where you can walk for miles. The sunsets here are consistently some of the best in the Caribbean.

My personal take: This is one of my top recommendations when beach is the priority. It delivers exactly what most people envision when they picture a Caribbean vacation.

Best for Calm, Clear Water: Sandals Grande St. Lucian
Set on a peninsula, the beach at Sandals Grande St. Lucian is protected on both sides, which creates incredibly calm water conditions.
It’s ideal for floating, paddleboarding, and spending hours in the ocean without dealing with waves. You also get beautiful views across Rodney Bay.

My personal take: This is one of the best options for clients who prioritize calm water above everything else. It doesn’t have the long walking beach of Negril, but the swimmability is unmatched.
Not sure if Saint Lucia is the right fit? I’ll help you compare all three Sandals resorts on the island and choose the one that matches your priorities. Start planning here.
Best for Snorkeling: Sandals Royal Curaçao
This is not your typical soft, walkable beach, but it stands out for something different.
The water is exceptionally clear, and the cove-style setting allows for great snorkeling right from shore. If you enjoy being in the water exploring rather than just relaxing, this is a strong option. Plus, the beach has an exclusive club-like feel, and no vendors!

My personal take: This is a great choice for clients who value clarity and marine life over traditional beach aesthetics.
If you’re considering Curaçao, I can walk you through the room categories, resort layout, and whether this experience aligns with what you’re looking for. Plan your trip here.
Best for Long Walks: Sandals South Coast
Sandals South Coast offers one of the longest beaches in the Sandals collection, stretching over two miles.
It’s quiet, private, and rarely crowded, making it ideal for morning walks or sunset strolls.

My personal take: This beach feels peaceful and more secluded than others, but the water can be less predictable depending on conditions. It’s a great fit if you value space and privacy.
I can help you determine if South Coast is the right match for your travel style and whether the newer 2.0 upgrades make it worth considering over other Jamaica properties. Start planning here.
Most Visually Stunning: Sandals Grenada
Located on Pink Gin Beach, this is one of the most visually striking settings in the Sandals portfolio.
The contrast of turquoise water and dramatic landscape makes it feel elevated and unique.

My personal take: It’s absolutely beautiful, but the water isn’t always as calm as Negril or Saint Lucia. This is a great choice if scenery is your priority.
If you’re considering Grenada, I’ll help you compare it to other luxury options and make sure it aligns with your expectations. Plan your trip here.
So, Which Sandals Resort Has the Best Beach?
The answer depends on what matters most to you.
For the best overall experience, Sandals Negril consistently stands out. For calm water, Sandals Grande St. Lucian is hard to beat. For snorkeling, Curaçao offers something different. For long walks and privacy, South Coast delivers. And for scenery, Grenada is one of the most striking.
This is where most travelers get stuck, and it’s also where working with a specialist makes a difference.
