Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: My Diamond Travel Awards Experience
Some trips remind me exactly why I love what I do.
My recent visit to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was one of them. I travelled for the Diamond Travel Awards and returned with an award I’m incredibly proud of, wonderful memories with friends, and even more enthusiasm for sharing this destination with my clients.
From the dramatic green mountains of Saint Vincent to the gorgeous waters of Tobago Cays and the Caribbean charm of Bequia, this trip was an opportunity to experience how much these islands have to offer.
And yes, there was some very good food along the way.
Pink Palm Travel Placed Second in Canada
One of the most meaningful moments of the trip was being recognized at the Diamond Travel Awards, where Pink Palm Travel placed second in Canada for sales to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Receiving the award from Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Godwin Friday was a tremendous honour.
I’m proud of this recognition because I put so much time into experiencing the destinations I recommend. I take my role seriously. When clients trust me with their vacations, honeymoons and celebrations, I want to give them advice grounded in firsthand knowledge.
A significant part of my business here is Sandals Saint Vincent, a resort I’ve been excited to introduce to couples looking for something special. But this trip also reinforced how much there is to discover beyond the resort.

Why you need to visit Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
What draws me to Saint Vincent is the scenery.
The dramatic mountains. The lush greenery. The clear water. That feeling of being somewhere with so much natural beauty still at the centre of the experience.
There’s an untouched quality that I love. Whether you’re looking back at the coastline from the water or heading out to explore, the landscape is a huge part of the appeal.

Exploring the Gorgeous Tobago Cays
Our time exploring Tobago Cays was a highlight.
The water is the kind of turquoise that makes you stop and stare. Surrounded by little islands and open views, it’s an extraordinary place to appreciate the beauty of the Grenadines.
Seeing it in person added another layer to my understanding of this destination. A stay in Saint Vincent can be about enjoying a beautiful resort, but getting out on the water brings an entirely different perspective.
It’s an experience I’d love to discuss with clients who want to include some island exploration in their trip. The right excursion depends on where you’re staying, the time available and how you like to travel—but Tobago Cays is absolutely worth having on that conversation list.
Spending Time at Sandals Saint Vincent
Sandals Saint Vincent was both my home base and the setting for the awards gala.
This resort is a popular one for my clients, so having more time to experience it myself was valuable. Every visit gives me more detail to share, from the feel of the property to the little things that help clients prepare for their stay.
And I have to mention the food, because OMG—it was incredible.
My advice is to try as many of the restaurants as you can. Dining was a highlight, and it deserves to be part of the experience rather than something squeezed in between everything else.
Between exploring, we also enjoyed time by the pool with friends. Those moments matter, too. Experiencing a resort means giving yourself time to settle in and enjoy being a guest.
Celebrating With Friends at the Diamond Travel Awards
The gala was a chance to dress up, celebrate and enjoy an evening with people who share my enthusiasm for travel.
Being recognized for the business I’ve built was special. Sharing that moment with friends made it even better.
There’s so much work behind every booking: conversations, research, comparisons, questions and details that clients may never see. An evening like this gives you a moment to pause and appreciate how far you’ve come.
